Man United's Greenwood released on bail after arrest.

INTERNATIONAL:  Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has been released on bail pending further investigations, police said on Wednesday after the 20-year-old player was arrested on suspicion of rape and assault of a woman.

Tuesday 1st February 2022, Greenwood was further arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and making threats to kill.

United issued a new statement following Tuesday's developments, saying: "Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind."

Manchester United suspended footballer Mason Greenwood on Sunday, a move that followed accusations online that the 20-year-old player had assaulted a woman.

Any marketing or products created by Manchester United or United sponsors will not feature Greenwood. All Greenwood sponsors have also suspended their ties.

Greenwood or a representative for him have not responded to the allegations.
